Buckland Park Lake
Buckland Park Lake, which is part of Buckland Estate is home to a 50-acre lake, bounded by dramatic sand cliffs and almost 50 acres of mature woodland and offers a range of activities for all ages that the Estate team hope will provide an enjoyable day out in nature for all the family.
The water sports lagoon is home to The Surrey Hills Adventure Company (“The SHAC”), who run stand up paddle boarding lessons and sessions and a wild swimming club. All water activities need to be pre-booked and swimming is not otherwise permitted.
An onsite eaterie, The Reverie, serves light bites, meals and drinks and offers a view across the lake that is something special.
During park hours you will need to buy a ticket (or be a season ticket holder) for entry to the park and to visit. Due to the wildlife, we can’t allow dogs, so please leave your four legged friend at home.
For more information, including park hours and information about day tickets and annual membership please visit the Buckland Park Lake website where you can also read about the journey to transform a sand quarry into an outdoor recreation space.
Access to Buckland Park Lake
Assuming that the Government’s COVID-19 roadmap does not change, it is planned to open Buckland Park Lake to the public on 29th May 2021.
Our business partner, The Surrey Hills Adventure Company (The SHAC), have restarted outdoor activities on the lake, notably paddle-boarding and outdoor swimming (in wetsuits). If you would like to know more, or try out these activities, contact SHAC via the SHAC website.
Our 2021 fly-fishing season opened in April and will operate until November; our members enjoy fishing for trout on this lake and on Lawrence Lake. If you are interested in joining our fly-fishing syndicate read more about Buckland Estate Fly Fishing.
More information about the Estate can be found on the Buckland Estate page on this website.
